2006 NGT SureShot GPS Performance Points Champion Crowned!!!!

The 2006 NGT SureShot GPS Performance Points winner is Brooks Roberts of Rural Hall, NC playing out of the Piedmont Series. As the SureShot GPS Performance Points winner, Brooks earns paid entry into 2007 Canadian Q-School, paid membership into the 2007 NGT season, and exempt status into the 2007 NGT Players Championship. Brooks had a very consistent season with 2 Wins, 2 second place finishes and numerous top 10's. Brooks played in many events including events outside his home series to capture this Points Race Award. Starting in 2007 the leading point winner at the end of the regular season will now earn PAID ENTRY INTO PGA Q-SCHOOL. Hope to see everyone at the top next year. Congratulations Brooks!!!

2005 NGT Players Championship Results


2005 NGT Players Champion - Tim Straub...Huntersville, NC
2005 NGT Player of the Year - Michael Townsend...Wilmington, NC


Tim Straub playing in his first NGT event wins the 2005 NGT Players Championship with a two day total of 137. Straub fires a 5 under par round of 67 on the first day of competition on Pinehurst No. 5 to take a 1 stroke lead into the second and final day of the event against William McGirt of Taylors, SC. Both players had strong second day finishes with wind chill's in the low 30's. Straub pulls away with the victory with a one under par 70 on the day with McGirt firing a 3 over par round of 74 to finish tied for third place with Cory Kaufman of Bluffton, SC and ex PGA and Nationwide tour player David Seawell of Columbia, SC each finishing with a two day total of 142. Don Carpenter of Athens, GA takes second place finishing with a strong second day score of 68.

The 2005 NGT Players Championship had many exciting moments including a hole in one on the first day of competition by Will Morgan of Laurenburg, NC. The NGT thanks every participant and guest for attending this great event and look forward to the 2006 NGT Players Championship to be held on October 2nd - 6th in Dallas, Texas.
